 Key Research Focus Areas

  • Crop Resilience and Genetics: Developing disease-resistant and high-yielding varieties capable of thriving in changing climates. This includes research into macro-propagation techniques and tissue culture to ensure the availability of clean, premium planting materials.
  • Sustainable Bio-Inputs: Pioneering the conversion of agricultural waste into valuable inputs. Our work focuses on advanced bioproducts like vermicompost, high-grade organic fertilizers, and bio-gas systems to promote circular economy practices on the farm.
  • Advanced Value Addition & Industrialization: Leading innovation in processing technology to extract and refine high-value derivatives. This includes optimizing industrial-scale production for banana fibre textiles, specialized flours, and high-quality bio-plastics derived from pseudo-stems and peels.
  • Market Systems and Agribusiness: Conducting detailed analysis on local and international markets to identify high-potential niches. We develop strategies for export readiness, supply chain transparency, and securing financing for new value-added ventures.
