Founder’s Story & Vision

Banana Institute of Science & Technology (BANISTECH) was born from a bold vision:
to transform Africa’s vast banana and plantain resources into engines of innovation, green industry, and sustainable wealth creation.

Our founder,  Dr (Mrs.) Precious Awesome Godswill, has spent years pioneering waste-to-wealth solutions, leading agricultural empowerment programs, and developing natural, eco-friendly technologies. From training over 600 youths in banana/plantain farming to fabricating Nigeria’s own banana fiber machinery, her work became the foundation for a new kind of institution.

BANISTECH exists because we believe Africa’s future industrial revolution will rise from its own soil — through science, creativity, and sustainable innovation.

•Africans build the technologies Africans need.

Engr. Godswill Moses Mathew — Co-Founder & Technical Architect

Every great vision needs a builder — and Banistech found this in Engr. Godswill Moses Mathew, the co-founder whose hands-on expertise brought the BANISTECH dream to life.

A trained builder, engineer, and designer, he has spent years working side-by-side with the founder to turn raw ideas into tangible products, machines, and solutions.

While Precious conceptualizes the innovations, Godswill interprets the concepts, engineers the systems, designs the machinery, and brings the ideas into physical reality.

He designed and cultivated the banana plantations that fuel BANISTECH research.

He built the technical backbone of the institution — from fabrication to installation, testing, and production.

He is the silent engine behind the scenes, transforming vision into workable, scalable technology.

More than a co-founder, he is the midwife of the dream, providing unwavering support, strategic strength, and technical mastery.

His combined experience in:

  • building construction

  • architectural drawing

  • engineering design

  • technical fabrication

  • agricultural systems

…gives BANISTECH the strong foundation required to innovate and industrialize Africa’s natural resources.
